LAILA CONFERENCE

 "15th International Symposium on Latin American Indian Literatures. 
This event will take place 
in Washington, D.C., 
at the Library of Congress, 
15-17 June 2000.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Topics may be drawn from the fields of anthropology, archaeology, art, astronomy, architecture, bibliography, codices, history, indigenista literature, applied or socio-linguistic, literary studies, medicine, religion, rock art, etc; and must be clearly related to indigenous literatures. Delivery time will be 30 minutes plus 10 minutes for discussion.
To be consider for participation, please send a 100-200 word abstract in English or Spanish, whichever is the language of the planned paper. To make papers more accessible to students and to colleagues in other fields, it is preferable to deliver the presentation in English at this meeting.  Proposals for papers must be accompanied by the symposium fee of $ 100.00 plus 2000 LAILA/ALILA dues of $ 25.00 ( $ 10.00 for students & retirees). Send abstracts, a single check (made out to LAILA/ALILA), and a page giving your name, title of your paper, address, phone number, fax, and e-mail address by 31 march 2000 to the Program Chair :
